Coming out as a clear winner in this year’s competition for best Myrtle Beach golf package, is the PGA 5 Package by East Coast Golf Management (ECGM). It is being touted as the best 5 round package on the entire east coast. The package includes a wide variety of the areas golf courses and a $150 gift card. The card can be used for food, beverage, merchandise, and additional rounds. The courses included in the PGA 5 Package are : Azalea Sands, Beachwood, Black Bear, Brick Landing, Burning Ridge, Brunswick Plantation, Cape Fear National, Carolina National, Colonial Charters, Crow Creek, Eagle Nest, Founders Club of Pawleys Island, Heron Point, Indian Wells, Indigo Creek, Lockwood Folly, Pearl East, Pearl West, River Oaks, Rivers Edge, and Sandpiper Bay.
ECGM also offers a PGA 2, 3, and 4 Package. Each of these packages include lunch and two draft beers or soft drinks. In addition to their line of PGA packages, ECGM has the Platinum Golf Membership that includes most of the same courses, as well as some courses in North Carolina. The Platinum Membership runs from calendar year to calendar year. So this year’s membership is nearing the end, and an announcement about next year’s membership is expected any day now. There are strong rumors the Platinum Membership will also include a sizeable gift card for 2015. This membership provides the play 4 get the 5th free feature as well as some deeply reduced round prices at all the participating courses. Some of the rounds are discounted 40 to 50%. In previous years, the card paid for itself with the free round bonuses. Looks like the gift card will take care of that in 2015. This is without a doubt the best discount card available.
The golf courses in Myrtle Beach are in pristine condition for the fall season. It was a tough summer in many ways due to all the rain, but all that extra water has created some very plush golf course conditions for fall golfers. The winter rye overseeding has already begun for some of the courses. The Pearl just reported they already have theirs down and growing. The bermuda is still growing as well., but with shorter and cooler days it will begin going dormant over the next few weeks. There’s nothing more beautiful than those ryegrass fairways against the dormant rough. There are still a handful of courses with bent grass greens…Crow Creek and The Pearl West come to mind immediately. Those greens suffer some in late summer, but are looking fantastic by now.
If getting to the Grand Strand this fall is not in your plans, the PGA 5 package will be available for the spring season. If you’re a regular here to the strand, check out that Platinum Membership.
